Doug Quelland

Elect Doug Quelland for Arizona Senate

Dear Neighbors

My name is Doug “” Quelland, and I am running for Arizona Senate from the new district you and I live in. My wife ( Donna) of thirty seven years and I have lived in the same square mile (Bell Rd.- Greenway/ 30th-38th Ave.) for thirty one years. Our two small businesses (Bell Lawnmower & Thank-Q Rentals) have serviced NW Phoenix for those same 31 years. Stop by anytime (35th Ave. & Greenway) and we can talk politics.

I love Republicans, and I love Democrats. I don’t trust the Republican Party/Caucus, I don’t trust the Democratic Party/Caucus, and I don’t trust the media. I will be walking and going door to door to every house in every square mile (45) in this district. If you are home, I’ll be glad to stop and chat for
awhile. If you are not at home and I miss you, you can always reach me by e-mail at dougquelland@cox.net or by phone at 602-999-8748. You will be able to check out my positions and my background here on my website.

It is my intention to run as an Independent and be the first Independent elected to the state legislature. One-third of our district is registered Independents, and most people I’ve talked to in my small businesses tell me they vote for the person and not the party.

It is my firm belief that we have a two party dictatorship in Washington D.C. and here in Arizona. Gridlock is the order of the day and neither party wants to do what is best for their constituents, only what is best to get them reelected or keep their party in power. You probably won’t see any of the usual endorsements because most organizations, unions, and groups are stuck in the same two-party dictatorships. I’ll appeal to all citizens of our district, and I’ll represent all the people of our district. You hear all sorts of promises from politicians, but I have only a few that are core to my campaign. I will not go negative against my opponents, I will not bother you with robo-phone calls, and I will not flood your mail box with glitzy say nothing mailings. I believe that door-to-door and face-to-face are the only ways to connect with my neighbors. Please consider donating to my campaign, volunteering to help, or putting up a “” sign for front yard or car to show your support.

Let’s be clear, both parties will come at me with negative ads and hateful rhetoric. That is how they do business. I am electable, and they know it. Our district senate race will be the most watched Arizona State Senate race in 2012. I will not be discouraged by their hate speech or their mud-slinging. I will be on the general ballot in November 2012 in Arizona’s new Legislative District 20.

Remember me when you see the Big Red “” and remember me when you vote. Please look up the definition for Independent, and then vote like one.

DOUG “” QUELLAND
